The Cathedral Church Of Semarang



Its official name is "the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of the Holy Rosary Randusari", Cathedral Church of Semarang is a church with ancient building located at Jl. Pandanaran No 9, (with entrance from Jl Dr Sutomo) Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia. The Cathedral is located on the Southeast side of the Young, the Monument in this area there is also a Museum and Mandala Lawang Sewu Bhakti.

The initial building of the Cathedral was formerly the "Dienst voor Volkgezondheid (Netherlands health services Office) that on 26 January 1927 the area was purchased by the Trustees of the Church to be used as the location of the third Church of the stasi. After being renovated on October 9, 1927, the Church was blessed by Mgr. van Velsen () Anthony, vicaris apostolic of Batavia.

1937 held restoration and expansion of the Cathedral, as it is written on the letter of the Bishops of Batavia on 20 December 1937 to Pater P.C. who served temporarily as Kerk-en Armbestuur. On August 9, 1940 in Central Java was established as the Apostolic vikarist under Mgr.A.Soegijopranoto, S.J. as Archbishop, the first in Indonesia. The Church of St. Virgin Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Cathedral was appointed.

The cathedral complex includes the Cathedral's core, a meeting room, and the school. In 2012 a residence and Office for bishops was built. The Bishop's Office contains a chapel, archives, Secretariat, parks, and public meeting space, as well as six rooms housing spaces.
